What is Ordenza?

Ordenza is a tribute to one of the most recognizable generative art projects in the world: Fidenza by Tyler Hobbs. Brought to life by the Ordinals protocol on Bitcoin. The entire collection is 100% on-chain. Collectors can explore the full range of the algorithm's potential, and preview the output before inscribing.

Why?

Ordenza has two goals:

1. We want to bring this amazing algorithm entirely on-chain.

To the most immutable blockchain, Bitcoin. The original project is hosted on a CDN and relies on external libraries. Ordenza is 100% on-chain, immortalizing this algorithm on the world's most secure blockchain.

Every aspect of the art is stored on-chain, meaning there is no reliance on external sites for storing data or libraries.

2. We want to see what the algorithm is truly capable of.

We believe that the original Fidenza collection barely scratched the surface of this algorithm's potential. If we let collectors explore the algorithm without limits, what would they inscribe? How many more "God mode" outputs will they find? Will the rarity of existing traits influence their choices? These are the questions we want to answer.

Recursive inscriptions

Ordenza uses recursion to keep the inscription size very small. The art is generated by code and can be scaled to any size.

Parent-child provenance

Ordenza takes advantage of parent-child provenance recently introduced to the ordinals protocol, and is one of the first generative collections to do this. You can verify that your Ordenza is part of this collection. The parent inscription can be found here.
